Exposing Stress Exhaustion and How to Beat It

May 07, 2019

Are you tired and worn out?  Do you wake up in the morning and already start your day feeling tired?  Do you feel like your energy has been destroyed from all your stress, worry or fear?

Stress can make you exhausted and most of us aren’t talking about it! So, today I’m exposing stress exhaustion and sharing with you how to beat it and get your energy back.

Energy is a real problem for most of us.  There is always more we want to do and we run out of time and energy to get it all done.  We live busy lives. Add in stress and we can be totally wiped out. Being tired is a major sign of anxiety and depression.

If I get really stressed, I’m too tired to think or make decisions as simple as where I want to go to eat. I don’t want to leave the house, I just want to be a couch potato and binge watch my favorite show on Netflix. Stress is draining!

So what’s the answer?  We need a power source to plug into when we are exhausted and even better yet, to stay plugged into so we don’t get to the point of being exhausted.  Think of it like rechargeable batteries or an electric appliance that needs to be plugged into work.

What is the Christian’s power source? Isaiah 40:31 (AMP) says, “
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."

Renewing your strength, not getting weary and tired...sounds good, right? So, we find that our source of energy is our Creator. That makes a lot of sense. They say the best cell phone charger or cable is the one made by the phone’s creator, not a generic brand.  iPhone knows it’s own phone best and generic chargers can be unreliable, frustrating and unsafe.

The one who made us knows what we need and He is the one sustaining us and the whole earth. Colossians 1:17 AMP says, “And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him, all things consist (cohere, are held together).”

Do you want to hear something really cool?  There is a substance in our body that is called laminin and it is what holds everything together.  It is what connects one skin cell to another to form this layer of skin that we see and not just a bunch of floating skin cells bouncing around.  When you look at the DNA structure of laminin it is in the shape of a cross. Jesus is literally holding you, your cells, together. And if He can do that, He can be a great source of energy as well.

God is the source of all energy.  He is the source of electrical energy, atomic energy, human energy, and spiritual energy.  Everything that is in existence came from the Creator. Isaiah 40:29 says “He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength.

This energizing and renergizing process that we go through when we maintain close contact with God is also described as simply "life" in the Bible. In John 10:10, when Jesus said He came to give us life, well, we already were alive and breathing, so what kind of life did He mean? He means He came to give us energy or power.  He came to give us the vitality of life we all crave. Acts 17:28 describes it this way, “in Him we live (that is, we have vitality), and move (have dynamic energy), and have our being (attain completeness).”

Vitality is a good word to describe the life Jesus came to bring us.  Vitality is defined as the state of being strong and active, energy, the power giving continuance of life, present in all living things.  And we get this energy, power or vitality from God. God is life.

Constant contact
with God establishes within us a flow of the same type of energy that brings about springtime every year.  It renews and it recreates. When we utilize or apply the kingdom principles God teaches us in His word, a continuous flow of energy is developed and it flows into our tired minds and worn out bodies.

Psalm 103 tells us not to forget all the benefits found in a relationship with God.  And verse 5 says “He renews our youth like the eagles.” Or TPT says, “You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again
like a flying eagle in the sky!

So, if your stress, anxiety, or depression has you feeling like a tired turkey on the ground, you need to know that you were made for so much more - you were made to soar!  It is plugging into your power source, your Creator, that will give you that energy.

Whether that means you need to get your life right with God and become saved or if it means you need to work on becoming more aware of God’s presence and intentionally plugin with Him several times a day to get your batteries recharged.

There is a funny commercial out right now where people are walking around saying, “I’m dying,” when their electronic device is about to die. I’m on my cell phone a lot and just plugging in at night is usually not enough. I usually need to plug in midday also. Plugging in with God once a week at church on Sunday or even once each morning or night is not enough.  You’ll be dying in between. You’ll lack vitality and energy.

In our next video, I’ll share with you
how to look for and repair energy leaks in your life.
